Ways to deal with neck pain

Updated: Jan 26, 2022

If you spend most of your day hunched over, looking at your phone, tablet, or computer, you've probably dealt with pain in your neck. This is called "Tech Neck" and it can cause structural issues in your body. If you are always going into a hunched position, your muscles will get trained to encourage that position.

How can I get rid of neck pain?

1. Stretch- the doorway stretch will help your posture. Place your palms and forearms against the door jambs, with fingertips toward the sky and elbows shoulder height. Now, look forward and lean forward for the stretch. Do this without moving your arms' position.

2. Reverse the hunch- you can do this by simply lying flat on the ground for a few minutes each day. Relax your shoulders and allow them to fall towards the ground.

3. Create an ergonomic workspace- when you sit down, you want to make sure that your hips are higher than your knees. And you want your desk high enough to keep your eyes at the top third of your computer screen.

If you are still experiencing pain, booking a 60 or 90-minute massage appointment is your next step. Click HERE to schedule your appointment with Adam Morgan, certified massage practitioner in San Luis Obispo, and start feeling better.
